Phil Brown - Clouds for brains
by Franchise FC » 06 Apr 2011 21:10
Just seen the interview after the game.
What game was he watching.
Apparently there were two fouls on full-backs in the lead up to the first goal. Not accroding to the highlights.
Apparently Preston didn't get a decision all night - can't comment on that except that there's been no mention of it anywhere else

Yeah was reading this earlier and was a little puzzled at his comments. No shots on target is why they lost the game, not poor reffing.

i take it he didnt see the handball off the line in the 2nd half either, some of these managers really do make themselves looks fools sometimes.

I have no bones with PNE, but Phil Brown is an orange faced pcunt, so the fact we've stuck one of the first nails into their coffin leaves me with a warm feeling inside.

Chaney i take it he didnt see the handball off the line in the 2nd half either, some of these managers really do make themselves looks fools sometimes.
The PNE boss had a pop at referee Mark Haywood who he felt got decisions wrong affecting both sides.
Brown felt Barry Nicholson – playing as an emergency right-back – was fouled in the build-up to Reading’s opener, as was Billy Jones.
And balancing things out, he admitted Ian Ashbee had handled a shot on the line in the second half to deny Reading.
Brown said: “I just wish the third team on the pitch – the officials – had not got some big decisions wrong.
“There was one for Reading with the handball on the line which went in our favour.
“But for their first goal, there was a foul on Barry Nicholson by the lad who crossed the ball.
“And then my left-back got fouled by Kebe as he put the ball into the net.
“We should have been going in at half-time level, but instead we were behind because of that.

I thought Phil Brown's comments after the game that this was "life or death" for Preston were in no way whatsoever inappropriate.
I understand that many of the thousands of Japanese survivors of the recent Earthquake/Tsunami disaster were enraged at the way the ref failed to spot all those fouls in the build up to Reading's first goal on Tuesday night.

How on earth can a manager blame the referee for his team losing whilst, simultaneously, accepting that the ref missed a decision that would have given Reading a penalty and given one of his players a straight red?
Doofus

Steve Bruce springs to mind. Same old same old. Managers blaming officials for when things go wrong. No wonder the game is in such a state.

Don't laugh too hard, it could easily have been us last season and will be again one day.

Yes, Preston have cut the cloth and paid the price in the short term. They are one of the good guys. Brown not so much.

One of the good guys? Don't make me laugh! No one in the North likes PNE except PNE fans. Ever wonder why? Fcuk 'em. Every time Reading have failed or fallen from grace they've laughed at me, so guess what? MY TURN!

Good community club. And they are trying to get the club running on a sound financial footing instead of blagging it like so many other clubs.

That's what makes Billy Davies so refreshing. Not only does he blame officials but he blames his club's board continually for not financially backing him even after several expensive permanent and loan signings in the transfer window.

I think he's blaming them for last year still. Roll on his end of year press conference in May.

Phil Brown - scorer of one of the best back post diving headers I ever saw
Shame it was past his own keeper in the Town End at Elm Park

I concluded last year that Brown is actually insane so I found this fairly coherent by his standards. Billy Davies though, he says after every defeat that they're pleased and targeting 2nd place!
